Explore Stages 7, 8 and 9 at Elstree Studios on Shenley Road.
Opened in 1966, these three stages have played an important role in almost sixty years of film and television production. They have housed sets and productions associated with The Avengers, The Champions, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Shining, Flash Gordon, The Dark Crystal, Return to Oz, Labyrinth, The Great Muppet Caper, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, The Chase, Pointless and many others.
The stages reopened in 2025 following an extensive programme of repair and refurbishment. These interactive 360° views allow visitors to look around each space and appreciate the scale of the stages in which so much internationally recognised film and television has been created.

Stage 7
Stage 7 has been used for productions including The Shining, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
Stage 8
Stage 8 has housed sets including the Millennium Falcon cockpit and Jabba the Hutt’s throne room for the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as work for Flash Gordon and Return to Oz.
Stage 9
Stage 9 has been associated with productions including The Avengers, The Shining, The Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, The Great Muppet Caper and The World’s End.
